I have sequenced the finale of Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra for the Proteus 2 and Korg O3R/W orchestral modules. Any track not beginning with "Korg" is for the Proteus. Some of the Korg programs are from the Orchestral ROM card and some are from Sound Source Unlimited's programs for the A Bank. The choices are so noted in the notes with each track. The Proteus 2 automatically transposes down Basses programs by an octave, the way a bass actually playes notes in a score. Since few who download this sequence will be using a Proteus 2, I have transposed these tracks down an octave. Therefore, if you have a Proteus 2, just transpose the notes back up an octave. Clear enough? The "Other Strings" and Tremolo tracks combine some rarely-used programs in an effort to keep the number of channels down (you'll need more than 16 channels anyway to play this, as Bartok used a lot of instruments). If you can't read these comments, here are the instruments used in the Other Strings track: Violin Pizzicato program used for both Violin and Violin Pizzicato, bars: 108-111 String Harmonics: bars 259-264 Violin Pizzicato: bars 266-332 The Tremolo Strings programs changes are: String Harmonics: bars 96-101 and 104-107 (otherwise playing the Tremolo Strings program except as noted below:) Pizzicato Violins: bars 108-110 Pizzicato Cellos: bars 299-332 Finally, between bars 96 and 101 the Violas track contains a solo passage for the viola. --Gary Goldberg Internet: GaryG@ix.netcom.com Compuserve: 76236,3302
