This sequence of the 2nd movement of Aram Khachaturian's Violin Concerto was designed for the Proteus 2. Because of the number of instruments used in this movement, I have used some programs from the Korg O3R/W (so noted by "Korg" at the start of the track name). Therefore, you will need a multiport MIDI interface to play this sequence or will have to find some way to shoehorn all the tracks into a 16-channel system. To keep the number of tracks and channels down to even that minimum, I've resorted to some track-sharing, mainly because the composer has some strings playing pizzicato when others in the section are bowing. In the Timpani track you'll find pizzicato basses in bars 198-214 and 231-237. In the Tremolo Strings track you'll find pizzicato violins in bars 80-81 and 196-197 plus pizzicato cellos in bars 198-214 and 231-237. Finally, I have transposed the pizzicato basses and bowed basses tracks down an octave to conform to the specifications of most sound modules/cards (the Proteus 2 automatically makes these transpositions so you can enter notes as they appear in the score). --Gary Goldberg GaryG@ix.netcom.com
