This is a sequence of George Gershwin's immortal "Rhapsody in Blue", for (at least) two synths. I have used the Proteus 2 for as many orchestral instruments as possible, a Korg P3 for the solo piano part, and a Roland JV1080 GM bank for the remaining orchestral instruments. The Roland is used for the following: Bb (tenor) and Eb (alto) saxophones, bells (Glockenspiel), and banjo. In addition, I've used the Cymbals from the Drum Set to augment the Proteus Cymbals. Note that on the Proteus snare/bass drum track, a bass drum is a D two octaves below middle C and a snare drum is a C. Also note that I have transposed the notes in the basses (arco and pizzicato) track down an octave because the Proteus 2 does this (real basses sound an octave lower than written). So, if you're playing these tracks on a Proteus 2, just raise them back up an octave. All other instruments have been transposed to concert pitch. --Gary Goldberg GaryG@ix.netcom.com Compuserve: 76236,3302
