This is one of the two "fast" movements of Shostakovich's 8th Symphony, written in 1943. It is a somewhat malevolent scherzo in nature. I have sequenced it for the Proteus 2, using a clarinet program from the Roland JV1080 GM bank for the Eb Clarinet, a Bass Clarinet program from the JV1080's Orchestral Expansion board, a Tuba program from the JV1080's GM bank, and a Xylophone program from the Orchestral Board to reinforce the Proteus xylophone track. Since the Proteus 2 transposes the piccolos up an octave and contrabassoons and basses down an octave (as in standard musical notation) I have already done this for the convenience of those who do not own a Proteus 2. --Gary Goldberg National Capital Amiga Users Group GaryG@ix.netcom.com or Compuserve at 76236,3302
