Classical MIDI Sequencing Competition - Rules, Terms and Conditions
Entries are accepted May 1 through November 1, 2007. Winners will be announced on December 2, 2007.
Qualifying Entrants
The Competition is open for everyone world wide (except for the organizers, sponsors, judges and their family members and employees).
There's no age limit, if you're under 18 or over 118 years of age, you'll need your parent's or guardian's consent to accept prizes.
Each entry will be posted under a unique user ID, email addresses and real names are kept confidential.
Winners agree to reveal their real name before accepting prizes.
Contest Entries
All entries must be General MIDI sequences of classical music. We also accept and encourage contestants to submit MP3 versions
of their MIDI files. This is to make entries accessible and enjoyable to audiences without proper MIDI equipment.
The MP3 file must be submitted together with the original MIDI file, MP3's without MIDI versions will not be accepted.
All entries must be original MIDI sequences created by the contestant. We may also accept new arrangements of previously published
non-commercial, public domain MIDI files under the following conditions: 1.The source of the original file is disclosed.
2.The author of the original sequence is notified (if possible) 3.The new version is significantly different form the original.
4.Any prize(s) will be shared with the author of the original file.
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entries if the terms and conditions are breached.
Entries can be MIDI files of classical music from Baroque to the Twentieth Century.
Orchestral pieces recommended but not required.
We also accept solo and chamber works. All entries must be at least one complete movement.
Judges will consider the quality of the MIDI sequence first, and in case of similar quality
entries the bigger and more complex arrangement will take the prize. Multiple entries from the
same person are allowed. All submissions will be posted on the Contest Page.
Prizes
One First Prize: $500
One Second Prize: $300
One Third Prize: $200
The top three prizes are Gift Certificates, redeemable at the Midi-Store
for midi keyboards,
midi and audio interfaces, music software and other goodies.
There will be a $100 "People's Choice Award" and some other prizes to be announced shortly.
The top 3 prizes will be awarded by expert judges, the People's Choice Award will be decided by public vote.
Prizes are not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded.
Copyright
All entrants retain copyrights of their works and agree to grant publishing right for the Classical MIDI Connection website.
Privacy
Each entry will be posted under a unique user ID, email addresses and real names are kept confidential.
By claiming the prize, the winner authorizes the use, without additional compensation of his or her name.
How to Enter
By entering the contest entrants agree to the terms and conditions.
Please fill out the Entry Form first. Once you successfully
submitted the form you will be taken to the upload page where you can upload your
