Jay Samples was born on October 25, 1979 in Plano, TX. He has pursued music all of his life. He began his participation at church in children's choirs and sang his first solo in church at the age of 5. Also, he studied piano for eight years. Jay began composing recently in his free time for enjoyment and has been pleased with the result.

Mr. Samples is a sophomore at Allen High School in Allen, TX, a small town north of Dallas. He takes school very seriously and is a straight A student.

He was a memeber of the All-Region Choir for Junior High his 7th and 8th grade years. In high school, he has placed high in All-Region Choir for the last two years. In addition, Jay was part of the Texas All-State Choir for 1995-1996. (Editor's Note: In Texas this is no trivial accomplishment !)
